Directions for: Pita Building - Add Your Own Toppings with Apples And Yogurt

Ingredients

6 to 8 pitas

2 tsp olive oil per pizza (10 mL)

Pesto in a jar

Pizza sauce

Peanut satay sauce

Mushrooms, onion, red pepper, orange or yellow pepper

Any veggies on hand such as broccoli and asparagus

Optional: Feta cheese, pine nuts, and yes even vegetarian bologna and cheese.

Part skim mozzarella, gruyere or cheddar cheese

Apples

Your favorite yogurt

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350 F (190 C)

2. Brush edges of pita crust with olive oil.

3. Spread basil pesto, peanut satay sauce or tomato sauce over pitas.

4. Sliver mushrooms, onion (if someone isnt fond of onion, chop finely) and peppers. Sprinkle over pitas.

5. Add other veggies on hand.

6. Anything else you enjoyload it on. I love feta on a pesto bottom with vegetables and pine nuts.

7. Top with part-skim mozzarella, gruyere or cheddar cheese.

8. Bake for 5 minutes, then broil while watching over pizza until cheese is bubbling.

9. Slice apples into wedges and serve with yogurt.
