Chicken and Asparagus Pasta - ★Cooking Recipes★

An easy-to-make meal thats great for family and friends. With a tossed salad and crusty bread dinners ready.
Directions for: Chicken and Asparagus Pasta

Ingredients

1 lb(s) fresh asparagus

3 Tbsp margarine

1 lb(s) boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut in strips

3 Tbsp all purpose flour

2 Tbsp chopped fresh basil

salt and pepper, to taste

3 cup Natrel Lactose Free Milk

1 cup lactose free swiss cheese, shredded

cup green onion, chopped

12 oz penne pasta or fusilli, cooked

Directions

1. SNAP tough ends off asparagus; cut stalks diagonally in 1-inch (2.5 cm) pieces. Blanch in boiling salted water 2 to 3 minutes, or until tender-crisp. Drain and set aside.

2. BROWN chicken in half of margarine in large saucepan. Remove from pan. Add remaining margarine; let melt. Stir in flour and seasonings. Gradually add Natrel Lactose Free Milk, whisking until smooth. Cook, stirring constantly until mixture comes to a boil and is thickened. Add cheese and green onion, stirring until smooth. Combine pasta, chicken and asparagus. Mix well; heat through.

3. Tip:Replace asparagus with green beans.Use 2 tsp (10 mL) dried basil leaves if you dont have fresh.
