Directions for: Dads Cheddar Biscuits
Ingredients
Biscuits2 cups (500 mL) all-purpose flour
1 Tbsp (15 mL) baking powder
1 tsp (5 mL) salt
tsp (1 mL) garlic powder
cup (75 mL) cold butter, cubed
2 Tbsp (250 mL) canola or vegetable oil
1 cup (250 mL) shredded old cheddar cheese
- cup (125 to 150 mL) cup milk
Garlic Butter Topping3 Tbsp (45 mL) butter, melted

Directions
Biscuits1. In large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt and garlic powder. Using a pastry blender or two knives, cut butter into flour mixture until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
2. Add oil, cheese and cup milk to flour mixture. Mix just until a moist, not sticky, dough forms. If necessary, add up to 2 tbsp (30 mL) more milk, until flour mixture is incorporated.
3. Using ice cream scoop or large spoon, scoop dough onto ungreased baking sheet. Bake in 400F (200C) oven for 15 to 17 minutes or until golden. Remove to cooling rack.
Garlic Butter Topping1. In small bowl, combine melted butter, garlic powder and parsley. Brush garlic butter topping over biscuits and serve while still warm.
