Ingredients
Easy Clam & Prawn Sauce On PasWater
1 tsp olive oil
1 onion finely chopped
2 tsp prepared garlic (from a jar)
2 10 oz (284ml) cans New England chowder
1 can filled with 1% milk
1 10 oz (284 ml) can clams with liquid
cup (125 ml) light cream cheese
1 tsp lemon juice
tsp lemon zest (optional)
cup grated light parmesan cheese
tsp fresh ground pepper
500 g spaghetti
1 tsp dried basil
1 tsp olive oil
15 to 20 cooked cleaned medium shrimp
Asparagus25 piece asparagus
1 tsp dried basil
Butter (optional)
Salt (optional)
Directions
Easy Clam & Prawn Sauce On Pas1. Boil large pot of water for pasta.
2. Heat olive oil at medium heat in large stove-top pot. Add onion and prepared garlic. Stir until onion is soft.
3. Add chowder, gradually stir in milk. Stir in clams with liquid. Add cream cheese in chunks. Add lemon juice. Simmer and stir until cream cheese blends in to sauce. Add parmesan cheese and fresh pepper, stir and simmer.
4. Add pasta to boiling water. Set timer for 10 minutes or package directions.
5. When timer rings for pasta, rinse in colander and return to pot. Drizzle with a small amount of olive oil and toss. Sprinkle with basil.
6. Add shrimp to pasta sauce and heat through.
Asparagus1. Break off the end nodes of asparagus, rinse in colander and place in a microwave safe casserole with lid. Cook at high for 5 minutes. Let stand.
2. Microwave asparagus at high for 2 additional minutes just before serving. Add a little salt and butter.
