Maine-Style Lobster Roll - ★Cooking Recipes★

Directions for: Maine-Style Lobster Roll

Ingredients

1 lb(s) fresh Maine lobster meat, cooked and chilled

2 Tbsp heavy mayonnaise, chilled

lemon, cut into wedges

4 New England-style hot dog buns*

2 Tbsp butter, melted

fresh chives, minced

Directions

1. Cut and tear lobster meat into large chunks, closely checking for bits of shell. Keep claws as intact as possible for best presentation. In a large bowl, use a spatula to mix lobster meat with mayonnaise, coating evenly. The more chilled the mayonnaise, the better it will coat.

2. Heat skillet on medium high. Using pastry brush, liberally brush melted butter on both sides of the hot dog roll and place on warm griddle. Toast each side to a golden brown colour, using more butter as needed.

3. When hot dog rolls are toasted, fill with 4 oz (1/4) prepared lobster meat into each roll. Serve immediately the goal is to serve when you still have a warm, buttery roll with the cool creamy lobster meat. Sprinkle the top with chives to taste. Serve with lemon wedge, which can also be squeezed on top. Enjoyed best with a view of the ocean!

4. *New England Style hot dog buns are a split top roll with flat sides. If you are unable to find them in your area, try using another roll and slice the sides flat for a great grilling surface.
